Takasago India: A Journey of Growth and Expansion

Takasago International India Private Limited (TII) has continuously evolved to strengthen its operations and expand its footprint in India. Our journey took a significant leap when we relocated to a new site at One Hub Chennai Industrial Park, officially inaugurating the facility on March 3, 2017.
This state-of-the-art site was designed to support Flavours & Fragrances manufacturing, R&D, Consumer Insights, Marketing, and Sales Functions, operating with a 60-member team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
As part of our strategic growth plan, we undertook a major transition in 2024, relocating our Fragrance Creative Centre to Mumbai, aligning with Customer requirements and market demands and enhancing collaboration within the industry. The new Fragrance Creative Centre was officially inaugurated on April 4, 2024, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
Our Mumbai office boasts a dynamic team of approximately 35 skilled professionals, bringing together talent from various industries. With deep industry knowledge and technical expertise, our diverse team is well-equipped to address client briefs and craft winning fragrances that resonate with the market.
TIIFC facility features a state-of-the-art application lab, evaluation booth, and a creative centre focused on innovation. Equipped with leveraging cutting-edge advanced technology, sensory tools, and precision testing capabilities, our fragrance R&D team develops high-quality consumer preferred fragrances based on evolving consumer preferences.
Continuing this expansion, 2025 will witness another transformative move as we shift our Flavour Creative Centre to Bangalore to enhance our Flavour creation capabilities and in providing consumer preferred taste solutions to customers.

Sustainability Initiatives
Water Initiative: TII OHC

TII has strong commitment towards environment on water conservation and recycling initiatives. The initiative, recycling of wastewater from the production floors are treated and used for the green belt development of TII site. This helps to adhere the green initiative requirements and reduce use of fresh water for green belt development. 50 KL of water is utilised / month by this initiative.

As part of our ongoing efforts toward environmental water conservation, recycled the air handling unit water condensate for green belt development as part of our water conservation efforts. This initiative saves 48 KL of freshwater annually.
Water Initiative: TIIFC

TIIFC is deeply committed to environmental sustainability, particularly in water conservation and recycling efforts. To support this, the creative centre has a wastewater treatment plant designed to treat chemical wastewater from the Oil & Application lab. The treated water is then directed to the builder for green belt development, contributing to water conservation efforts. This initiative helps save 80 Kl of fresh water annually.
Renewable Energy Solar – TII OHC

TII’s commitment to sustainability and reducing the carbon footprint we have installed a 95-kW solar energy system at our site to reduce our carbon footprint. This system provides 15% of our total energy consumption, saving energy and reducing costs.
Waste recycling- TII OHC

TII recycles waste as part of the co-processing process. We collect, process, and prepare alternate fuels for cement plants, following regulatory standards, and supply them as a replacement for traditional fuels in cement production. This proposal outlines the benefits of adopting co-processing for TII industrial waste, including environmental, economic, and regulatory advantages.
Environment Protection - TIIFC

TIIFC has implemented a 100% fresh air circulation system with no recirculation, designed to provide 15 air changes per hour in the oil lab, evaluation room, and booth to prevent Odor contamination.
Exhausters are connected to an exhaust ventilation system equipped with carbon filters to comply with environmental standards before being released into the atmosphere. The exhaust system is monitored quarterly to ensure its effectiveness
Corporate Social Responsibility
Takasago India (TII), we are committed to making a meaningful impact through our CSR initiatives, focusing on health, education, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
Health & Well-Being: We delivered safe drinking water, improved school infrastructure, and promoted hygiene awareness. Since COVID-19, we installed sanitization facilities and held health sessions. In 2024, we shared health and hygiene awareness and education and distributed dental kits to students.
Education & Infrastructure: We have supported nearby village school by providing green writing boards, ceiling fans, and lighting to enhance learning environments.
Environmental Responsibility & Disaster Relief: In 2022, we participated in the Green Drive event in the One Hub Chennai Industrial Park, promoting Sustainability.
During Chengalpattu floods, we provided food and support to affected communities.
Our CSR initiatives focus on improving living conditions and health and wellness of communities where we operate. We are dedicated to sustainability and social responsibility.
People Engagement
At Takasago India, we take pride in fostering a vibrant workplace that embraces diversity, culture, and social responsibility.

In 2024, we began the year with Pongal celebration, where employees wore traditional attire, cooked pongal. Pongal is an harvest festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu, the state where TII is belonged to. We have organised games shows in which the staff competed in games like slow cycling, lemon-in-spoon, and uriyadi. The participants were cheered to well and the winners were recognized for their enthusiasm.

On 15th August, we celebrated India Independence Day with bay decoration competitions and tributes to freedom fighters, reinforcing unity and liberty.

The Onam festival – the harvest festival of Kerala, followed. In this celebration, employees created pookkalams (floral carpets) and enjoyed a traditional feast.
In November, the office was decorated for Diwali, and employees participated in a diya painting competition. Sportsmanship was also highlighted in cricket tournaments in Chennai and Mumbai. The year ended with
