The plant of Shanghai Takasago-Union Fragrances & Flavor Co., Ltd was established in 1997 in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. With site area of 16,641m2, the product category includes Fragrance, Flavor and Seasoning. The plant has obtained ISO9001, FSSC22000, ISO14001 authentication certificates. In the past several years, STU has made a lot of efforts on the environmental upgrading project to meet the challenge of much more strict laws and regulations in China.
Environmental loading reduction
In order to reduce VOCs and odor emission, STU adopt an integrated system including sprinkler, photo catalysis, active carbon absorption & desorption.
The installation of on-line VOCs tester is not only the internal control of exhaust, but also the important reference for the calculation of Environmental Protection Tax. Its real time data will be uploaded to the authority data system if it is necessary in the future.
Considering the different electrical cost during peak and off-peak period, STL latent heat storage system is a choice to store energy at night and to discharge for air conditioning in day time by nodule-ice ball.
After its running, we have reused water for more than 2000MT/year currently and still have potential for future usage.
STU replaced the original diesel boiler with natural gas introduction in 2016. After running for about 2 years, we not only reduce CO2 emission, but also save energy and operation cost.
STU replaced the burner of boiler with low NOx burner to reduce the max. emission of NOx from 150mg/m3 to 50mg/m3.
Cleaner Production
STU implemented first-round audit of “cleaner production” in 2018 and finished it in 2020. STU continued the next audit of “cleaner production” from 2023, which is estimated to be finished in 2025,
Water Conservation Benchmark Enterprise
With the calculation of the 3rd party, STU was approved as the “Water Conservation Benchmark Enterprise” in Pudong New Area in 2020.
Emission Permit
According to enactment of new regulation of emission permit, STU got the emission permit in 2020.
Dual Carbon Goal
With carbon peak and neutrality goals, the renewable energy and green-oriented transition of energy have been greatly promoted. STU installed Solar panel Generation System with capacity of 100.65KWp in the end of Year 2023, which may cover about 6% of the electricity consumption.
