In recent years, we have been contributing to employee’s health and safety. We implement measures aimed at zero‐injury by posting a no‐incident‐no‐injury report chart, and conducting risk assessments to dangerous places. We are working on to improve employee’s awareness by voluntary inspections of the production environment Kaizen activities, and hygiene training sessions.
We will protect environment for stable harvest of raw material by continuing our efforts on environmental friendly production of spices, with saving energy and reducing industrial waste. Based on our basic principles, “We contribute to the food culture”, we will provide flavorful and safe products.
Power Saving Measures
As a part of our environmental burden reduction measures, we switched mercury lamps to metal halide lamp at Factory No. 1 and No. 2 in 2nd half of FY2013 and reduced 20% of electricity charge. We will promote switching mercury lamps to metal halide lamps or LED lamps at other facilities.
Risk Reduction Against Dust Explosion
We the factory produces powder processed materials, and we have to promote the reduction of the risk by dust explosion as one of our severe risk. We changed the work trouser's belt buckle from metal to plastic in August 2014. The belt implemented static electricity measures. Also, we regularly measure and monitor static electricity inside of factory. We sent the sample of basil powder, oregano powder, sage powder, and cumin powder to external party to investigate the possibility of dust explosion. As a result, all 5 samples were found to have low risk of dust explosion against static electricity.
