Takasago West Japan is the only factory in Takasago Group that manufactures flavors in West Japan.
Based on various safety measures learned from the fire accident at the Hiratsuka factory, this factory was built in Mihara city, Hiroshima prefecture with consideration of BCP (Business Continuity Plan), for example, reducing natural disaster risk and ensuring traffic infrastructure.
We acquired FSSC22000 certification in 2016, and the factory is effectively operating under the food safety management system to provide safe and reliable products to our customers.
In addition, as an ISO 14001 certified site, we have been tackling to reduce environmental impact.
Safety measures learned from the fire at the Hiratsuka factory
In order to prevent sparks of static electricity that cause fire, we have placed grounding points with consciousness of traffic lines so that employees can easily ground during work.At the same time, we adopted the anti-static work clothing/ safety shoes.
By installing exhaust facility and push/ pull type ventilation facility which are actively exhausting, we can prevent flammable vapors from staying in the manufacturing area.
This factory has equipped foam extinguishing facility in production area and raw material/ product warehouse. Also, we have installed fire hydrant, large fire extinguisher, and powder fire extinguisher to avoid spreading in case of fire. Training such as disaster drill and first-aid treatment is regularly conducted.
Prevention of air and water pollution
Our factory is equipped with an activated carbon deodorization tower to control odor released from various processes in factory. To ensure it works efficiently, we measure odor level inside and outside the factory and conduct inspection by experts.
In case hazardous liquid seeps out, closing the emergency cutoff valves can prevent its leakage.
Training of emergency cutoff valves is carried out on a regular basis.
By adopting city gas (LNG) as boiler fuel, we are reducing SOx and soot contained in the exhaust gas (Compared with the case of using).
Energy conservation
The air-cooled screw chiller adopted in the manufacturing building automatically controls the number of chiller units in operation, which leads to a reduction in power consumption.
Communication with local communities
Participation in local cleaning activities, as well as cleaning up and weeding around the surrounding roads at the factory contributes to local environmental beautification.
The activity of employees planting trees on the site adjacent to public roads aims for harmony with the local environment.
Takasago West Japan encourages employees to participate in Mihara YASSA festival and offers to play a role in activating the region. By actively participating in volunteer activities and regional events, we aim to coexist with the region.
