At Takasago Food Products we manufacture powder flavors, that are used in many varieties of foods, along with food additives such as fruit juices, natural seasonings, and food colors. Since 2011, with our environmental philosophy, “Each and every one of employees will promote the environmental conservation activities through safe and trusted food production”, we promote environmental conservation activities and produce the result by degrees in accordance with our following three guidelines, “Promote energy saving activity and reduce CO₂ emissions”, “Stabilize quality and improve the yield in order to utilized resourced effectively”, and “Achieve zero emissions by thorough sorting of wastes”.

We shall strive to co-exist alongside local community, and we will continue working on effective utilization of energy, recycling of resources, and minimizing the waste reduction in all production related activities in order to meet the needs of society and customers.

Fuel conversion and biomass management

In 2011, we started construction of biomass project which utilizes the coffee grounds generated in business activity in a waste heat boiler, and started full-scale operation in 2012.

We reduced 686 tons of CO₂ emissions by utilizing biomass in 2013. We will promote more emissions reduction by improving the generation efficiency.

Learned lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake and in preparation for Huge Nankai Earthquake, we examine and strive to enhance countermeasures for disaster. We prepared life Jackets for all employees, and reinforced a roof of an administration building to improve as the evacuation place against Tsunami disaster. Also, we implemented Earthquake early warning system, and moved network devices and broadcasting equipment to upper floor. We are performing earthquake disaster assessment, for example, to completing reinforcement work against earthquake in wastewater treatment facility and installing two emergency generators. We reviewed the Harm Prevention Rule for High Pressure Refrigerator Gas in in-house fire fighting training held twice a year, and we enhance the safety by adding the check of high-pressure gas facility. In 2014, we completed a 20-meters-high evacuation tower as Tsunami evacuation facility not only for employees but also for neighborhood residents.

To promote zero emission of industrial waste, we built a building only for industrial waste to provide a space for thorough separation of wastes. All employees performed complete separation to help smooth recycling and we achieved 100% recycling.
