TEPL Relocates Rue Torricelli
Takasago Europe Perfumery Laboratory S.A.R.L. (TEPL) has moved its Paris headquarters to a seven story building on Rue Torricelli in the 17th arrondissement. Rue Torricelli is an eclectic street populated by a mix of light, modernistic buildings and more stately structures built in the late 18th century. The new headquarters are about a 20-minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe.
While competitors operate independent facilities for their fine fragrances, toiletries, household goods, and other product categories, Takasago has purposely concentrated all of its functions in its one Paris location. This strategy provides the following advantages.
Perfumes: Perfumers in specialized fields are brought together at a common location. This leads to the joint creation of perfumes and more collaborative planning and development.
OEB: A faster trickle-down effect from the fine fragrance field leads to more timely proposals to customers.
Applications/R&D: The European R&D divisions have improved ties to other creation centers in Tokyo, New York, Singapore, and elsewhere.
Marketing: The concentration of shared marketing information enhances Takasago's proposal-making capabilities.
The new offices provide a concentrated base for brainstorming creative ideas to beat out rivals and exploit TEPL's strengths as a Japanese fragrance company expanding its business in Europe.
