Satoshi Masumura receives the National Order of Merit from the French Republic
Satoshi Masumura, President and Chief Executive Officer of Takasago International Corporation, has received the Chevalier, the National Order of Merit (L’ordre national du merite) from the government of the French Republic. Thierry Dana, Ambassador of France in Japan, bestowed the decoration on him at the conferment ceremony held at the official residence of the French Ambassador on January 12, 2017.
The national order of merit is a decoration that was established through the government ordinance dated December 3, 1963, and the French government awards it at the decision of the president.
Takasago established a representative office in Paris in 1960. Since then, it has expanded its business to the Middle East and Africa as well as Europe: Takasago Europe Perfumer Laboratory (TEPL), its local subsidiary established in 1978; the distribution and research base in Paris; and the production base in Val-d’Oise, which is a suburb of Paris. The recent successful business development is attributable to the trend towards an increased supply of fragrances for well-known perfume products.
The receipt of the award is the result of the recognition of Takasago’s contribution to France and regional economic development.
