The 2009 Summer Science School for children was held on August 21 an 22 at the Kanazawa Institute of Technology. Takasago cooporated on the "Experience the Wonder of Smell and Taste"program.
Satomi Kunieda, Advanced Materials & Technology Research Lab, taught about the senses of smell and taste for Children. After the lecture, children made cookies with various flavors and an original perfume using fragrances. Children looked like they were enjoying themselves.
The Sensory Evaluation Team working in Advanced Materials & Technology Research Lab has been studying ways to tap the psychological benefits of aromas in fostering the healthy emotional development of small children and rehabilitating the elderly and physically disabled.
They are working with Professor Hideo Jingu of the Kanazawa Institute of Technology.
