Takasago International Corporation's Quality Control Laboratory Receives Accreditation For ISO/IEC 17025 International Standard
Takasago International Corporation's Quality Control Laboratory in Hiratsuka, Japan, has been actively structuring its efforts to address the unprecedented increase in consumer demand for greater food safety and reassurance. On March 23, 2004, these efforts bore fruit through the accreditation the Laboratory received from The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment as a product and ingredients testing and analysis laboratory in compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard.
The accreditation is for the Laboratory's analyses of beverages and beverage ingredients in eight physical and chemical testing categories and three microbiological testing categories. With this achievement, Takasago holds the distinction as the first company in Japan to be accredited for the specified target items and testing categories.
The ISO/IEC 17025 certification enables Takasago to make the following operational improvements:
(1) The test reports issued by the Quality Control Laboratory are valid in all regions of major countries, based on international mutual recognition.
(2) Third-party recognition not only for systems but also for testing technology will improve testing data reliability, leading to even higher customer satisfaction.
Since the previous fiscal year, Takasago has been advancing its Program G2 mid-term business plan targeting strengthened and expanded group management. With efforts focused in promoting Takasago's business on a global scale, this accreditation enables the Quality Control Laboratory to serve in an even more effective capacity as the hub of a renewed drive to supply Takasago's consumers around the world with top-quality products, all supported by the assurance of testing data with even higher reliability.
