To add to the mysterious atmosphere, on one side, she holds a poppy in her hand; on the other, she is sniffing its scent.

Bouchon Eucalyptus

The Eucalyptus perfume bottle is one of Lalique's most famous. The broad, flowing eucalyptus leaves on the stopper are presented boldly, so long that they almost reach to the base of the bottle. Variations on this "tiara" type of stopper were used on many perfume bottles.

Paul Poiret was the first couturier to launch his own perfume. He revolutionized 20th century perfumery by associating couture with perfume. The Arlequinade perfume bottle was inspired by a series of Picasso's paintings which feature Arlequin. The black triangular stopper suggests the harlequin's hat, the gold and transparent triangular motifs on the body his costume.

Christian Dior launched his own brand in 1946. This rare perfume bottle, with Dior's pet dog as its model, was a limited edition commemorating the tenth anniversary of Maison Christian Dior.

Calendal (Molinard)

Grasse, a town in the south of France, is known as the perfume capital of the world. Molinard, which was founded there, commissioned this perfume bottle. The nearly spherical body of the bottle is surrounded by nude women in various poses. Small flowers closely cover the stopper and neck of the bottle. This chaming work has been executed with a light purple patina.
